My name is Peter and I am the sole owner/operator of Sidcup Cleaning. I have been cleaning carpet and upholstery for over 20 years and leather for just under 10 years.

Even after all this time I am still very passionate about my work and enjoy it in the same I did when I first started out (perhaps without the nervousness of making a mistake) under the wing of my Uncle who himself had already been cleaning carpets for 15 years.

As you will have seen on my main page I am an advocate of environmentally friendly cleaning. There are many reasons for this approach. Firstly, eco-friendly cleaning solutions make for a far safer environment that my customers live and work within, secondly, they are safer for me and last but not least the fabrics of carpet and upholstery can degrade as a result of the high ph detergents that have been traditionally been used over the last 40 years. When you are experienced and have the right equipment it is not difficult to get outstanding results without the potential to harm you, your family, your fabrics, me and the environment in general.

I think it is important that my customers get to know me and for those don’t as yet here is a little bit about me away from work.

About Me

I have been married for 10 years this year to my beautiful wife Denise. We have 2 gorgeous little girls, Emily and Alice. We love our holidays, going to the beach, playing board games (when the English weather does what it does). Denise and I love to eat out at lovely restaurants. The best place we have found so far is called the Sportsman, a recently awarded Michelin Star restaurant in a small place called Seasalter which is just outside Whitstable on the East coast of Kent. I love to read all sorts of books and have an interest in the origins of oriental rugs and how they played their own part in ancient history. I like to follow football and am agonised Arsenal fan but that’s probably all that needs to be said about that. I am not a particularly politically minded person but I do believe in justice for all and equality. I could go on but if you got this far I’m impressed with your mental stamina.
